2012 https://www.wildthingsrehab.com/apps/photos/ 2012 They're Everywhere! They're Everywhere! This is what it looks like when you open a carrier with 9 little raccoons in it. They are moving that fast and didn't even have eyes open yet! https://www.wildthingsrehab.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=156633219 156633219 Our Big Brood of Nine UPDATE Here it shows one of our big family of nine out of the Colorado Springs area. As you can see he is a big boy & ready to be released. We have held them a little longer than normal due to the wildfires going on in Colorado right now. https://www.wildthingsrehab.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=158814314 158814314 Must find the mama....... This is one of 4 babies that came in TINY, only a few days old. Found in a dumpster and rescued, people from the Max-Fund of Denver helped keep them alive until we could arrange transport to us. This picture is after 4 wks with us. https://www.wildthingsrehab.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=156633218 156633218 Western Grebe Never trust a water bird with red eyes! His beak is a lightening fast bayonet! https://www.wildthingsrehab.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=150557425 150557425 Albert Squirrel In this part of Colorado we see don't see Alberts very often so we got a big kick out of his cute tuft ears. https://www.wildthingsrehab.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=150557426 150557426 Wow! What is in there?! Believe it or not in the middle of all this soot is 5 little Raccoons. Some very dedicated animal lovers tore their fireplace/wall apart to get these guys out . Happy to report they are cleaner and in great condition! https://www.wildthingsrehab.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=156701565 156701565 5 Raccoon Update This is what our little sooty Chimney Raccoons look like now, after a month of good eats.....and lots of baths! Now they enjoy playing in the water & do it daily, when they came in the were afraid of water. But living in a chimney I can understand that! https://www.wildthingsrehab.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=158814317 158814317 Sam This is Sam....yes he's there, look close in the middle! He came in from the Royal Gorge area & was rescued by some kind hearted employees. Now all he needs is some "outside" time & he can go back home! https://www.wildthingsrehab.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=158814315 158814315 Part of Sams World Since Sam is in training ....learning what a squirrel does all day he still gets a home & a food dish the "motel" provides (LOL OK...me). Here in a few days after he is comfortable we step things up & change his house to a natural one & make him look for his food. By the time Sam graduates from his bootcamp he will be able to make a living doing squirrel stuff. https://www.wildthingsrehab.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=158814316 158814316 One of 4 Bigger babies from Denver area This four came in great shape! Now after some time in a cage with 4 really wild babies that came in they are all turning into a wild coon....makes a mama proud! (or "mamas" in this case!) https://www.wildthingsrehab.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=158814318 158814318 Two families of Foster kids living together This is a picture that shows some of each of the two groups of "foster kids". The eight get along great & play VERY rowdy! I could only put them together since they came from the same area & I know who is who for release day. Mixing areas is bad news for disease control. https://www.wildthingsrehab.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=158814319 158814319 I see You! It seems the silly coon loves the squirrel box...of course since he couldnt fit without tearing off the top! LOL You can put a BIG, nice den in for a raccoon & they will still "puppy pile" in the smallest space they all fit in. https://www.wildthingsrehab.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=158814320 158814320 https://www.wildthingsrehab.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=166238525 166238525 https://www.wildthingsrehab.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=166238526 166238526 https://www.wildthingsrehab.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=166238527 166238527 https://www.wildthingsrehab.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=166238528 166238528 https://www.wildthingsrehab.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=166238529 166238529 https://www.wildthingsrehab.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=166238530 166238530 https://www.wildthingsrehab.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=166238531 166238531
